The projectThis game was developed at Global Game Jam 2016, winner of best mechanic for our jam site and second overall, by popular choice.
Following the theme "Ritual", our team came up with a duel game, in which two players are in opposite sides of an arena, casting elemental spells to destroy the opponent's totem. This game is also hosted in the official Global Game Jam 2016 page. |
The teamThe team was composed by UFRGS students who met thanks to GDS UFRGS:

The mechanics
- Attack
- Select an element, then attack
- Notes:
- If two spells hit each other in the middle of the arena, both players take damage
- Absorb incoming attack
- Defend while no element is selected
- Notes:
- While the magic is absorbed, the attacking player may not cast any spells (including defense)
- Reflect incoming attack (Counter-Attack)
- Select the same element of the incoming attack, then defend
- Notes:
- Reflected attacks have their speed and damage increased
- Failing to select the right element will increase the damage taken
- Dodging is not good: each player shares his HP with his totem
